Write the budget basis
A £25 merchandise limit is different from a £25 delivered-and-presented limit. The Papier notebook’s £23 base meets the first but its optional £6 box takes merchandise to £29 before delivery. The £19.99 pen includes its stated gift box,while the £24 chocolate reference includes its selected Thank You sleeve. These differences matter more than comparing three base tickets without context.
Choose a receiving pattern
For five individual pen gifts,the current reference arithmetic is5 ×£19.99 =£99.95 before actual charges. For one shared chocolate gesture,the base is one£24 box rather than five individual gifts. Decide which acknowledgement is intended before dividing a budget by headcount. A shared gift and separate personal gifts are different outcomes,not two prices for the same result.
Separate essential extras
List any required presentation box,message service,engraving,delivery or invoice handling. Mark each as included,paid extra or unknown. Do not invent an engraving fee for the selected Parker offer,which does not establish that service. Do not assume a free gift-note option is the same as paid custom branding or an individually printed message for every recipient.
A transparent shortlist example
If the brief is one non-food gift in a presentation container below£25 merchandise,the selected boxed pen is a relevant reference. The notebook without optional box may also be considered if its included packaging is acceptable,but the separately offered box scenario exceeds that limit. The food box does not meet the chosen non-food requirement even though its ticket is below£25.
Keep approval outside the calculator
An employer may have its own gift,procurement,expense or conflict-of-interest process. This site does not infer an allowed amount or approve a colleague gift because it is inexpensive.
